ABOUT ST. PATRICK DIVISION NO.1
St. Patrick’s Division #1 of the Ancient Order of Hibernians was chartered on October 28, 1960, continuing Cincinnati’s proud AOH tradition dating back to the 1860s. Originally meeting at St. Xavier Church in downtown Cincinnati, the division has grown steadily over the decades, relocating as needed to support its expanding membership. Since 2011, the division has been based at St. Vincent de Paul Church on River Road.

In January 2020, St. Patrick’s Division #1 consolidated with the Our Lady of Knock Division of Cincinnati, strengthening its mission and membership. Meetings are held on the fourth Friday of each month at 7:00 p.m., and the division remains active in promoting Irish heritage, Catholic faith, and community service throughout Greater Cincinnati.

The division is best known as the founder and organizer of the Cincinnati St. Patrick’s Day Parade, established in 1967. What began as a small religious procession has grown into one of the region’s most enduring cultural traditions and has never been canceled, rain, snow, or shine—reflecting the enduring spirit of Cincinnati’s Irish community.
